Silk & Steel Acoustic Guitar Strings

Silk & Steel strings give a softer and thicker tone & feel than normal acoustic guitar strings.  This type of guitar string was favoured by Django Reinhardt and became synonymous with, and fundamental to the sound of 'gypsy jazz' guitar. A round steel core is combined with ‘silk’ or synthetic rayon which gives the strings lots of flexibility and provides a very warm tone.
