Mandolin Strings

The Mandolin is the smallest of the Mandolin family. It consists of eight strings which are tuned in pairs. They are tuned G-G, D-D, A-A, E-E (which is the same as a violin and has a short scale length of around 14 inches. Mandolin was, traditionally, primarily used melodically, but has increasingly become a very versatile and adaptable instrument.
