Stringjoy Brights 80/20 Bronze 10-50 Acoustic Guitar Strings, Extra Light
Stringjoy’s Brights range utilise an 80/20 Bronze wrap wire alloy which refers to its constituent blend of Copper and Zinc.
80/20 Bronze strings are best known for their bright, punchy tone in comparison to their warmer 92/8 Phosphor Bronze brothers.
The Stringjoy’s Brights are no exception. They deliver a lovely dose of punch in the bottom end and brilliant, crisp-sounding top end. 80/20 Bronze are great for brightening up a mellow sounding acoustic and are perfect for helping to cut through the mix in a band situation too.
Equally at home for fingerpicking and picked techniques, 80/20 bronze helps to project the sound of your instrument very well indeed.
Here’s what Stringjoy say about their 80/20 Bronze Brights Super Light Gauge Set:
“Our Super Light gauge Brights are remarkably flexible, while still projecting very well.
Particularly for these strings, if you’ve been a .012s player it’s well worth it to try out a lighter gauge, since our Brights’ wrap wire alloy will give you the presence you need to be heard, even with a lighter gauge.
Our Brights feature an 80/20 Bronze alloy that gives your acoustic guitar the present, punchy, articulate tone it needs to cut through any mix. Equally suited to fingerstyle and picked techniques, this is the perfect choice for any player that requires a crisp, brilliant top-end, with an equally vibrant low-end.
Give your own acoustic the strings it deserves, a set that will make it stand out from the crowd.”
Who are Stringjoy?
Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Stringjoy are a burgeoning string manufacturer committed to great customer service and caring about putting quality products in their customer's hands. Despite being a young company in comparison to some of the bigger brands, these guys are making big waves and really know their stuff when it comes to strings.
Formed in 2014, Stringjoy was first created after owner Scott Marquart began putting together his very own custom gauge sets. Frustrated at not being able to create his own sets without having to buy several sets off the shelf and cherry-pick only a few singles from each set, Scott sought out a different solution and in the process created his very own string company, Stringjoy.
Now, if you’re thinking that Stringjoy are just another string brand, you’d be wrong. They are not in the business of creating as many sets as they possibly can. Instead, their strings are made in small batches by a modestly sized in-house team dedicated and focused purely on producing the best quality strings they can possibly make. Their mantra is “quality, not speed.”
Each string is made one at a time under scrupulous supervision by a human being at every stage of the process - all the way from securing the ball end to the core wire to packing the strings in their boxes. Stringjoy profess that making their strings relies on the skills of only the very best trained string winders insisting “winding a perfect string is an art.”
Not content with producing any old set of strings, Stringjoy have a very high-quality control with every string individually inspected from end to end before it makes its way into the box and onto your guitar. Any slight imperfection and the string doesn’t make the cut. Simple as!
Their sets are already extremely popular over in the USA with highly regarded players such as Joey Landreth and Ariel Posen being big advocates.
