Normal tension trebles and medium tension basses create one of Augustine Strings' most comfortable combinations.  Forgiving softness and full tone make Classic/Red Augustine's most popular set.

Basses: medium tension, silver-plated copper over nylon multifilament

These are the original Augustine guitar strings, an intrinsic part of the classical guitar revolution this century. Albert Augustine, an instrument maker, found himself pressured by none other than Andres Segovia to manufacture and sell nylon guitar strings. He did so, insuring the rise of a new generation of concert players and lending his own part to the cultivation and completion of the famous Segovia Sound.

Augustine strings are designed to give you endless possibilities that will best suit your particular needs. The Classical Nylon strings are the least tense string in the Augustine range and the Red Basses are wound with a light gauge of copper.
