D'Addario XS features a unique material which is ten times thinner than a human hair. This, alongside a tremendous leap forward in coating technology, allows the string windings to be completely protected from contaminants providing maximum life with a smooth feel.

The plain steel strings on XS are treated with a unique polymer coating (originally developed for the XT range of strings) meaning all six strings are protected.
